Should I be posting questions and comments here or on "groups.io" ?

It's entirely up to you! groups.io is a traditional (perhaps old-fashioned) email-based discussion group, although it does also have a web interface. This forum is web-only, although you can subscribe to email notifications and there is an RSS (Atom) feed.

Arguably this forum is better suited to discussions about a programming language, because you can list code snippets without fear of the formatting being corrupted. It's also separated into topics in a more organised way than groups.io.

Previous attempts to merge them haven't met with approval: too many strongly-held opinions! So use whichever best suits your preferences. I should add that this forum might end up being moved to a different host at some point, but it should retain the same URL.
