The server which hosts the main website (bbcbasic.co.uk and the several other domains which point to the same place) has recently been updated to a newer and faster machine. My hosting provider tells me that this server was previously used by "the top golfers in the world" (seriously!) so if you're into golf - which I'm not - this might be of interest, and you might even know some of the background as to why the server became available.
You are unlikely to see much difference in terms of load times or performance in general, but it can only help. The availability has always been very good and there's no reason to think that the new server will be any less reliable. You should be able to deploy BBC BASIC web applications using the engine available from the server with confidence (the only significant risk being of the monthly bandwidth limit being exceeded, but I'm trying to keep an eye on that).
Instructions for making a BBC BASIC application available on the web can be found here. Currently such apps will run in all the major desktop browsers, except Internet Explorer (which is obsolete) and Safari (although Safari Technology Preview works fine), and in the main Android browsers (Chrome and Firefox). Sadly no iOS browser is currently compatible, but that should be resolved in time. If you do deploy anything of general interest, please consider posting a link here.
