Are you planning on doing it this time, David?

Here's a YouTube link I just posted to the SB forum showing the latest progress.

More details here: https://www.syntaxbomb.com/index.php/to ... l#msg21109
By the end of next week, it will actually begin to resemble a Christmas-themed adventure game (one hopes).

Cross-post from SyntaxBomb:
Still soldiering on, but very much behind schedule.
Here's the latest WIP, being tested under Raspbian Stretch on a Raspberry Pi 3 model B:

Sorry about the shaky hand-held video recording!

Looks great! Is the final thing going to have any sound effects or music? I keep thinking that BBCSDL really ought to support playing MP3s but I haven't found a satisfactory cross-platform solution yet.David Williams wrote: ↑Tue 04 Dec 2018, 18:09Here's the latest WIP, being tested under Raspbian Stretch on a Raspberry Pi 3 model B:

I intend to have a few sound effects in there, and hopefully an unobtrusive, seasonal music track.guest wrote: ↑Tue 04 Dec 2018, 18:33David Williams wrote: ↑Tue 04 Dec 2018, 18:09Is the final thing going to have any sound effects or music?
That red balloon in the video took about 4 hours to model and texture in Blender!

If that was 4 hours of computer time rather than 4 hours of your time, it's probably better value than paying $29 for this.David Williams wrote: ↑Tue 04 Dec 2018, 19:05That red balloon in the video took about 4 hours to model and texture in Blender!

It was 4-or-so hours of my time!guest wrote: ↑Tue 04 Dec 2018, 19:47If that was 4 hours of computer time rather than 4 hours of your time, it's probably better value than paying $29 for this.David Williams wrote: ↑Tue 04 Dec 2018, 19:05That red balloon in the video took about 4 hours to model and texture in Blender!
These holly leaves* (with berries) took me around 2 hours to model & texture in Blender (being a raw beginner at Blender doesn't help of course; a more experienced user could probably have this sort of thing done and dusted in around 10 minutes, with better results!):

I don't yet know how to make the leaves' tips more pointed or needle-like, but it'll have to do due to time constraints.
Anyway, what's with the holly? You need it to pop the balloon because... well, either it's got a key hidden in it, or perhaps the balloon impedes entry to a room and therefore needs to be popped. I haven't decided yet.
