No more brave than Rod Bird, who originally wrote it for Liberty BASIC!
Besides, if background music is added, the Box2D demo may make a great impression on downloaders of the demo.
Pinball has sound effects (when the ball hits a bumper) but no music. If somebody has (or can write) suitable copyright-free music it could relatively easily be added.
I guess that the search system only checks the software titles.
What's the point of having tags if the search system doesn't find them? I'm not planning to change the title of my project to workaround a problem which Itch should be fixing themselves!

Google found this but I don't know that it's terribly suitable:

It's a bit soon to conclude that, isn't it? If you only sent the Private Message on Saturday he may not have had a chance to look at this forum yet and make contact.

I hope David does agree to his BBC BASIC games going on itch.io, because they are some of the best demonstrations of the suitability of the language for writing games.

Oh, any news? Will a plan B be needed?

I'm sorry to say I haven't heard anything from David. Whilst I would have loved to publish Forces of Darkness and Tyoob (and probably others) on Itch, as fantastic examples of what can be achieved in BBC BASIC, I don't feel I can do so without his explicit permission. He was happy to allow me to port them to BBCSDL and promote them 'locally' (e.g. here) but Itch is a rather different kettle of fish.

I am of course disappointed if David has become disillusioned with BBC BASIC, especially if perceived lack of support from me was a contributory factor. I did put a lot of effort into developing the gfxlib library for BBCSDL, with the specific purpose of simplifying porting of BB4W games that use David's library of the same name (or GFXLIB2). But it was only a short time later that David posted his 'farewell' message here.

I am open to suggestions for what 'Plan B' might entail, but there simply isn't any substitute for David's amazing skill.

Sure...

This challenge may only be a small obstacle on the road to success. We should treat the current challenge as an interesting obstacle faced by Mario in a Mario game. :)

2 ideas(or suggestions):

1. Wait for new good games released in the forum community. For example, the game called "Not Quite MineCraft". The video of the demo of the game on Youtube looks attractive and quite amazing.
2. Look into other nice games in the BBCSDL package. For example, the game called Gorillas. The game is quite fun.

It's a BBC BASIC for Windows (only) game. I have discussed with the author the possibility of porting it to BBC BASIC for SDL 2.0 , but since it is heavily dependent on (Windows-specific) Direct3D 11 that seems to be virtually impossible.

Gorillas is another of David Williams's games!
